Davis Polk is advising Grupo Aeroméxico, S.A.B. de C.V and certain of its affiliates (collectively, “Aeroméxico”) in connection with its restructuring under chapter 11 of the United States Bankruptcy Code. Aeroméxico intends to use the restructuring process to protect and support its ongoing business operations while it works toward a restructuring under a plan of reorganization.
On June 30, 2020, Aeroméxico filed voluntary chapter 11 petitions in the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York. At the hearing on July 1, 2020, Judge Shelley C. Chapman granted Aeroméxico all of its requested relief, including the authority to pay critical vendors and to continue to honor customer programs and airline agreements.
