Davis Polk is advising Sterling Equities and the New York Mets on the sale of the New York Mets Major League Baseball franchise to entities affiliated with Steven A. Cohen and Cohen Private Ventures. The New York Mets are a Major League Baseball team based in New York that competes in the National League East division.

Sterling Equities is a diversified, family-run group of companies focused on holdings in real estate, sports and media, including the New York Mets, SportsNet New York, real estate investment portfolios, related real estate services businesses and private equity.

Steven A. Cohen is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Point72, a 1,500+ person registered investment advisor. Cohen Private Ventures oversees certain family office activities for, and invests capital on behalf of, Steven A. Cohen and his family.
