We are advising JetBlue on the transaction

Davis Polk is advising JetBlue Airways Corporation in connection with its strategic collaboration with United Airlines Holdings, Inc. to launch “Blue Sky,” a collaboration that allows both carriers to sell seats on each other’s flights and customers to have new opportunities to earn and use the MileagePlus miles and TrueBlue points from the carriers’ loyalty programs across both airlines. As part of the airlines’ arrangement, JetBlue will provide United access to slots at JFK International Airport for up to seven daily round-trip flights out of JFK Terminal 6 to begin as early as 2027. Additionally, United will move its website and mobile app’s ability to sell hotels, rental cars, cruises and travel insurance, on both a stand-alone and package basis, to new technology and services provided by JetBlue’s Paisly platform. The agreed upon components of this collaboration will begin as early as this fall, subject to regulatory review.

Born at JFK in 2000, JetBlue is now a global, award-winning travel company. It is a leading carrier in Boston, Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood, Los Angeles, Orlando and San Juan. JetBlue carries customers to more than 100 cities throughout the United States, Latin America, the Caribbean, Canada and Europe.

With U.S. hubs in Chicago, Denver, Houston, Los Angeles, New York/Newark, San Francisco and Washington DC, United operates the most comprehensive global route network among North American carriers. It is the largest airline in the world as measured by available seat miles.
