Mr. Rishty is a partner in Davis Polk’s Corporate Department, practicing in the Real Estate Group. He concentrates in commercial real estate with wide-ranging experience in many aspects of real estate law, including acquisitions, dispositions and development, joint ventures, financing on behalf of borrowers and lenders, debt restructuring and workouts, and leasing.

Work Highlights

  • Square Mile Capital and USAA Real Estate Company on their joint venture with an affiliate of Hackman Capital Partners for the:
    • $750 million acquisition of the property commonly referred to as “CBS Television City” from CBS Broadcasting
    • $375 million acquisition of MBS Media Campus from affiliates of The Carlyle Group
    • acquisition of a 49% interest in each of The Culver Studios and Culver Steps in Culver City, CA 
  • A joint venture between affiliates of Square Mile Capital and Hackman Capital Partners LLC on the acquisition of the property commonly referred to as “Silvercup Studios” from Silvercup Studios Associates LP and its affiliates for $560 million, and advised the joint venture in connection with $323 million in acquisition financing provided by Deutsche Bank AG, New York Branch and an affiliate of Apollo Global Management.
  • Affiliates of Sculptor Real Estate on the $190 million purchase from subsidiaries of ClubCorp Holdings, Inc. of the fee interest of 20 golf clubs, lease back of the properties to subsidiaries of ClubCorp Holdings, Inc. and $64 million purchase money loan agreement.
  • Related Companies and Oxford Properties Group in their $1.5 billion construction financing from a bank syndicate led by Deutsche Bank AG New York Branch for the development of the one million square foot destination retail project, The Shops & Restaurants at Hudson Yards, to be anchored by a flagship Neiman Marcus store, the first in New York City, and to include restaurants from chefs Thomas Keller, José Andrés and Costas Spiliadis and stores from numerous other high-end retailers. Hudson Yards is a 28-acre project that is expected to cost $20 billion and include more than 17 million square feet of office, retail and residential space
  • A joint venture led by an affiliate of Extell Development Company on the negotiation of a lease with an affiliate of Hard Rock Cafe International (USA), Inc., for construction of a “Hard Rock” branded hotel in Times Square and related $225 million construction loan financing
  • A joint venture between Related Companies and affiliates of Spitzer Enterprises to develop a mixed-use project with over 1.4 million zoning square feet to be comprised of residential, office and retail components and a community facility near the Hudson Yards development
  • Naftali Group on its joint venture with Rockefeller Group and its joint venture on the acquisition of six properties and adjoining air rights from Muss Development and the Aryeh family for a purchase price of $167.9 million, which will be developed into a mixed use commercial and luxury residential condominium project at 204 East 83rd Street in New York City
  • El Ad Group in on its $451 million inventory loan loan from an affiliate of Mack Real Estate Credit Strategies that will be used to pay off El Ad’s existing construction financing and fund the completion of construction, marketing and operation of approximately 139 luxury residential condominiums and a retail and garage component and a community facility space at 108 Leonard Street in the New York City neighborhood of Tribeca
  • A joint venture between El Ad and Silverstein to sell commercial condominium units at One West End to Touro College; and an approximately $378 million loan to fund completion of construction and marketing of unsold residential condominiums at One West End
  • Related Companies, L.P. through its joint venture with LargaVista Companies on an $88 million construction loan and an additional preferred equity investment, and ground lease modification in connection with the development of a boutique, seven-story retail and office building located at 298-308 Lafayette Street
