James Dougherty and Michael Rishty shortlisted for 2025 New York Legal Awards
Davis Polk partner James Dougherty and partner and Real Estate practice co-head Michael Rishty are shortlisted for the 2025 New York Legal Awards, presented by the New York Law Journal. The awards honor attorneys and judges whose dedication, innovation and leadership have profoundly impacted the legal profession across the state.
James is a finalist for “Dealmaker of the Year.” He has advised on several noteworthy transactions in the past year such as: Summit Materials’ $11.5 billion acquisition by Quikrete Holdings, Owens Corning’s $3.9 billion acquisition of Masonite International, Alcoa’s $2.2 billion acquisition of Alumina and Nordson’s $800 million acquisition of Atrion.
Michael is a finalist in the “Real Estate Transaction of the Year” category for his work advising Legion Investment Group and Gindi Capital on the $335 million construction financing for the development of a new 20-story, luxury condominium building on seven adjacent parcels in Gramercy Park.
The New York Legal Awards will be presented on September 5, 2025, in New York.
