Davis Polk West Coast M&A practice head and partner Paul Scrivano has been named among Daily Journal’s 2023 “Top 100 Lawyers in California.” The annual list honors the leading lawyers throughout California across a variety of sectors, including private practice, academia and public service.

Paul was recognized for the central role he played during the regional bank crisis. He provided strategic, regulatory, corporate law, privacy and other advice to Silicon Valley Bridge Bank as it was acquired by First Citizens Bancshares.

“Silicon Valley Bank was so woven into the culture here, and then they unraveled over a 48-hour period. It was stunning, and then I was in the middle of it. Our response was a classic example of the exigent circumstances we’re able to respond to. Davis Polk has a long history of representing banks and financial institutions,” Paul told the publication.

The 2023 Top 100 Lawyers in California were featured in the September 6, 2023, issue of the Daily Journal.
