Davis Polk partner Brian Resnick was profiled in Law360 (“BigLaw Partner Assembles Epic Drum Video To Fight Hunger,” October 28, 2021) in connection with his efforts to conceptualize and produce Drum Together, a video campaign benefiting WhyHunger. The video unites more than 100 of the world’s greatest drummers and percussionists for a drum-focused cover of The Beatles’ song “Come Together.”

Since the campaign launched, it has raised nearly $600,000 for WhyHunger, a nonprofit that works to end hunger and barriers to access to nutritious food. Regarding the incredible impact of the project, Brian told Law360, “I’m thrilled we get to support this wonderful charity. They do amazing work. Six hundred thousand dollars could feed over 400,000 people.”

Brian, who won a Tony Award as co-producer of Hadestown, was inspired to create Drum Together in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. He said, “I felt like this would be a unique, once-in-a-lifetime opportunity with all of the drummers home and not on the road for them to record their parts and see if we could, for the first time ever, get 161 musicians and over 100 top drummers to play together on the same video on the same song. It was a big, grand experiment and it ended up being a huge success.”

On October 19, 2021, WhyHunger honored Brian with the Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award, in recognition of his longtime support of the organization and his work on Drum Together.
