Director, eDiscovery Management
Monday through Friday, 9:30 am – 5:30 pm (overtime as required)
The Assistant, Legal Support Services provides administrative, technical and organizational assistance to the Legal Support Services department, with a focus on supporting the eDiscovery Management group. This is a dynamic position requiring the ability to demonstrate professionalism, effective communication skills, proactivity and the use of good judgment as a valued member of a support team.
Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Coordinate administrative responsibilities for the Legal Support Services department
- Assist with periodic reporting, including budget, P&L, project status, and monthly productivity reports
- Track department latenesses, absences, vacations and coverage
- Establish and maintain calendar for principals and department
- Enter legal time and make travel arrangements for principals and department
- Monitor PTO requests and correspond with appropriate parties for approval
- Maintain eDiscovery media supply inventory and media library; retrieve stored media for group and follow protocol for checking out media
- Prepare certificates of destruction for media to be destroyed, if applicable
- File and index documents and media using appropriate platforms
- Organize client, vendor and internal meetings
- Process and submit reimbursable expenses and disbursements for department
- Accurately inventory and prepare materials for off-site storage
- Assist with maintenance and updates of Legal Support Services intranet pages
- Create, revise, print, and proofread correspondence, memoranda and other documents
- Assist with research and special projects, as needed
- Organize and maintain LSS department files
- Answer and place telephone calls professionally; take accurate and complete messages
- Ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
- Must be punctual and reliable
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Adobe and other applications as needed
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work collaboratively with lawyers and staff, demonstrating strong teamwork and a positive and proactive attitude
- Flexibility in daily schedule to accommodate unexpected situations arising from Legal Support Services department needs
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to proofread typed material for typographical, spelling and grammatical errors
- Ability to type with speed and accuracy
- Ensure confidentiality of all of the firm’s and clients’ documentation and information
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of two years of experience preferred
The expected base salary for this position ranges from $65,000 - $70,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
