On October 20-22, 2026, Davis Polk partner and Tax practice head David Schnabel and partner Kara Mungovan will be among the speakers at Practising Law Institute’s New York “Tax Strategies for Corporate Acquisitions, Dispositions, Spin-Offs, Joint Ventures, Financings, Reorganizations & Restructurings 2026.”

Kara will speak on the “Current issues in divisive strategies” panel. Topics discussed will include recent Section 355 developments, including guidance issued by the government and the availability of private letter rulings.

David will present the “Private equity: Buying and selling partnerships” session. Topics discussed will include common issues in passthrough deals that are important to private equity buyers and sellers.
