Davis Polk partners Lara Samet Buchwald and Vanessa Jackson have been named to Crain’s New York Business’ 2022 Notable Women in Law list. The list highlights women who have made an impact both professionally and in their communities.

Crain’s recognized Lara for her work in high-profile complex commercial matters in courts nationwide, including serving as trial counsel in a number of high-profile bankruptcies, and her deep commitment to serving her community. The publication highlighted Lara’s work with Legal Aid, noting that she has won its Pro Bono Publico Award nine times and serves on the organization’s board of directors and as co-chair of its development committee.

Vanessa was recognized for her work representing borrowers and lenders in finance transactions that regularly involve billions of dollars. In particular, the publication emphasized Vanessa’s recent focus on clients in the hard-hit airline industry and her work related to the government’s $600 billion Main Street Lending program. Crain’s also highlighted Vanessa’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, including her role on Davis Polk’s firmwide DEI Committee.
