Davis Polk Tax Department head David Schnabel was quoted in The American Lawyer on the 2021 forecast for tax. Schnabel noted that the outlook for tax is busy, in part because changes from the 2017 tax cuts are still being adapted to, and because the Internal Revenue Service and U.S. Treasury Department have been issuing a steady stream of new rules for guidance since the legislation’s enactment that may continue through 2021. He also noted that the new administration will only bolster demand for tax guidance.
