Davis Polk partner Dan Kahn was quoted in Bloomberg Law discussing the Justice Department’s use of mining suspicious bank data to find viable leads for Foreign Corrupt Practices Act cases. “It’s just a question of finding the right combination of datapoints and data sources, and then coming up with the right algorithm to identify issues,” Dan said.

He noted that it’s already producing results, at least in the form of launching investigations. “I am seeing some cases being generated through data analytics,” he said.
