Davis Polk partner Byron Rooney discussed the outlook for this year’s IPO market with Law360.

Byron noted that he expects to see “bread-and-butter companies that are solid through different market cycles” go public first this year. “The pendulum has swung back,” he added. “Companies that have more solid growth rates that perform in different market cycles — and are probably in more traditional industries, like financial services, energy services, consumer retail — may be the ones that lead us back into the market.”
