Our training contract is a two-year trainee solicitor program that gives you the opportunity to work closely with and learn from highly regarded Davis Polk lawyers who will help you build your skills and develop a deep understanding of the Asian legal market.

As a trainee solicitor in our Hong Kong office, you will play an integral role on client teams working with established and emerging Chinese companies, the Chinese government and state-owned entities, global financial institutions and leading multinational corporations. Trainees rotate through both the corporate and litigation practice groups in Hong Kong. Subject to business needs and global conditions, trainees will have the opportunity to go on a six-month secondment to one of our international offices in the second year of the training contract.

We recruit for our trainee solicitor program from the four-week vacation scheme we offer in the summer to students. Our Hong Kong summer vacation scheme offers a perfect introduction to a career in law and to life at Davis Polk. You will have the opportunity to work on international transactions for various clients and attend in-depth training programs and information sessions focused on the work of our Asia practice, as well as social events with Davis Polk lawyers.
