Position Summary

The Business Development team supports the firm across a broad spectrum of new business and client relationship-building activities, including the creation of new business proposals and firm marketing materials, upkeep of the databases that track firm matters and client information, competitive intelligence and coordination of client events.

The Business Development Coordinator is an integral part of the team and responsible for a variety of marketing and business development activities for the Hong Kong and Beijing offices.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Researching existing and prospective clients, competitor activities and market trends / opportunities
  • Preparing pitch materials, RFPs and presentations for capital markets, M&A and litigation practices
  • Tracking pitch activities and maintaining various pitch templates, marketing materials and presentation, both online and offline
  • Coordinating and managing Hong Kong and/or Beijing office lawyers’ biographies in English and Chinese and Asia pages on the firm’s public website in English and Chinese
  • Tracking Asia awards and directories’ and league table rankings
  • Assisting the preparation of directories and awards submissions
  • Assisting the distribution of client communications
  • Hong Kong/Beijing-based events coordination, which includes invitation list, venue and gift sourcing, reviewing, negotiating and post-event follow-ups
  • Reimbursement for Business Development team
Qualifications / Position Requirements
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong written and verbal skills (in both English and Chinese), and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work confidently and collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to maintain professional composure in high-pressure situations and a fast-paced, multi-authority environment
  • Highly motivated, responsive and conscientious, with a commitment to delivering excellent client service
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • A sharp eye for detail
  • Experience with legal-research / legal-news databases and resources (Bloomberg, S&P Capital IQ, Refinitiv, Pitchbook, Mergermarket, Deal Point) will be an advantage
  • Experience with InterAction, Vuture or another CRM program preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Education and/or Experience
  • Recent graduate or one to two years of experience in a business development or marketing role in a professional services environment (law-firm specific background)
  • Bachelor’s degree

Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
