On October 20, 2025, Davis Polk partner Kara Mungovan will be among the speakers at American Bar Association Tax Section’s 2025 Fall Tax Meeting. Kara will speak on the “Deregulation of Subchapter C” panel. Topics discussed will include stock basis, whether net value must be transferred for transactions to qualify as tax-free, the treatment of built-in gains and losses under section 382 and whether the withdrawal of these regulations has changed corporate tax law.
