Davis Polk lawyers speak at ABA’s Banking Law Committee Meeting 2026
On January 16 and 17, 2026, Davis Polk AML/CFT head Dan Stipano, partner David Portilla and counsel Andy Baer will be among the speakers at the American Bar Association’s Banking Law Committee Meeting 2026.
Dan will speak on the “Winds of Change: The Supervisory Environment Under the Trump Administration” panel. Topics discussed will include how bank supervision is being reshaped by the Trump administration’s priorities and the impact on bank compliance and audit.
David will speak on the “Cross-Border Regulatory Issues Facing Banks: InHouse Perspectives” panel. The panel will highlight what keeps in-house counsel up at night in managing and advising diverse issues such as cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, financial crimes and the challenges of cross-border employment.
Andy will speak on the “Bank Lending through Subsidiaries” panel. The program will highlight key regulatory risk considerations for the use of subsidiaries for lending activities, with a focus on oversight, accountability, risk management, internal controls, affiliate transaction restrictions and capital and liquidity requirements.
