David Schnabel and Corey Goodman speak at PLI’s “Tax Planning 2026”
On May 6, 2026, Davis Polk partner and Tax practice head David Schnabel and partner Corey Goodman will be among the speakers at Practising Law Institute’s “Tax Planning for Domestic & Foreign Partnerships, LLCs, Joint Ventures & Other Strategic Alliances 2026 New York City” program.
David will speak on the “Topside Planning for, and Passthrough Investments by, Private Equity Funds” panel. Topics discussed will include planning strategies to accommodate the tax objectives of fund managers and investors, issues that are raised in cross-border investing and private equity transactions and exit strategies.
Corey will speak on the “Subchapter K in M&A Transactions” panel. Topics discussed will include using “umbrella” partnerships for umbrella partnership real estate investment trusts and UP-C structures, identifying situations in which a partnership will be characterized as a publicly traded partnership and drafting effective tax receivable agreements.
