Davis Polk partner and Europe practice co-head Will Pearce was named to Financial News’ “Fifty Most Influential Lawyers 2026” list. The award recognizes the top finance lawyers in Europe, including legal professionals working on M&A, private equity deals, IPOs, fund formation and financial regulation.

Will was honored for leading the firm’s European and London M&A practices, and notably for his leadership in expanding the office through lateral partner hirings and moving to a new London office last year. 

Will has worked on numerous takeovers, mergers, securities offerings and listings during his career. Financial News highlighted his recent work advising on Mastercard’s $1.8 billion acquisition of BVNK and Lightyear Capital’s acquisition of PayByPhone.
