Davis Polk partner and Korea practice head Samuel Kang has been named to Asian Legal Business’s 2026 “Asia 40 Under 40” list. 

In his profile, ALB recognized his work advising TPG ₩1.3 trillion acquisition of a majority stake in Lotte Rental and  SK Inc’s $1.3 billion renewable energy platform with KKR, which were called “two of the largest and most complex transactions in the Korean market,” as well as Meritz Securities’ $500 million PIPE investment in Lotus Technology.

Additionally, Samuel’s profile noted, “When global capital moves across Asia, Samuel Kang is often the lawyer on the other end of the line.” 

The list honors the most accomplished lawyers in Asia who are under the age of 40.
