Davis Polk partner Tatiana Martins was quoted in the New York Times discussing the dismissed bribery charges against former New York Lt. Gov. Brian Benjamin. Tatiana said that the government may opt to proceed with the case on the two remaining counts of falsifying records because “there’s still a message to be sent there.” She notes that the prosecutors could seek to introduce the conduct underlying the bribery allegations “so they still get to air out those facts in public.”
