Davis Polk Financial Institutions Group co-head Margaret Tahyar was quoted in an American Banker article discussing the Congressional agenda for financial regulatory reform in 2021. Tahyar noted that regardless of the Senate election results, financial regulatory legislation will likely not be a key focus of the new Congress. She also noted that she expects to see congressional oversight on pandemic relief programs and that the Senate will be active on nominations while both Houses of Congress will likely use hearings to try to influence regulators.
