Margaret Tahyar discusses changes to CAMELS ratings with Politico
Davis Polk partner and Financial Institutions practice co-head Margaret Tahyar was quoted in Politico’s “Morning Money” newsletter discussing the proposed changes to the CAMELS framework, which federal regulators use to score banks’ resilience.
The article noted that the proposal shifts the focus of bank supervision away from management, the “M” in CAMELS.
“There will have to be some subjective factors to supervision,” Margaret said. “[But] management was overweighted.”
