Davis Polk advised the D+M Group in connection with the acquisition by Sound United of 100% of the outstanding capital stock of D&M Holdings Ltd. The transaction closed on February 28, 2017, although terms of the sale were not disclosed.

The D+M Group, owner of the Denon, HEOS by Denon, Marantz and Boston Acoustics brands, is the largest supplier of audio/video receivers world-wide and a leader in wireless multi-room audio via its HEOS by Denon sub-brand. Sound United is a division of DEI Holdings, a portfolio company of Boston-based private equity firm Charlesbank Capital Partners, LLC. Sound United, parent company to Polk Audio, Definitive Technology and Polk BOOM, is the largest supplier of loudspeakers in the North American market and a leading supplier of sound bars and wireless music systems.
