Jamie represents clients in civil and criminal matters in federal and state courts across the country, with a focus on appellate litigation and legal strategy. His appellate work has touched on issues involving constitutional, antitrust, bankruptcy, insurance and federal criminal law, as well as arbitration and federal court procedure. 

Jamie previously served as an Attorney-Adviser at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Counsel, where he received a John Marshall Award for his work advising the White House and Executive Branch on questions of constitutional and administrative law. 

Jamie has served as a law clerk to multiple appellate judges, including Justices Anthony M. Kennedy and Brett M. Kavanaugh of the U.S. Supreme Court and Judges Amul R. Thapar and Raymond M. Kethledge of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. 

Experience

Jamie’s representations prior to joining Davis Polk include:

  • A foreign audiovisual and multimedia company in a Ninth Circuit breach-of-contract appeal resulting in the reversal of a $26 million jury verdict 
  • National Football League in cases concerning the arbitrability of disputes under the NFL Constitution 
  • CNA in a series of appeals concerning insurance coverage for business losses resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic
