Why Davis Polk

Davis Polk paralegals and lawyers share how our paralegal program can be a stepping stone to a career as a lawyer.

For someone considering a career in law, you are able to learn so much about the industry, and the relationship with attorneys is one of mentorship. I think it’s one of the best things you could do before going to law school.

As a paralegal, I did a lot of substantive drafting and client communications. I fell in love with the work, and I’m so happy to have returned as an attorney in the same group. The attorneys really want the paralegals to succeed, and as an associate I’m thoughtful about how I support them in their role.
Emily Mahan
Associate
Working with the attorneys – seeing what they do and helping out with the process – has definitely confirmed my desire to go to law school and practice law.
