Gil Savir

Mr. Savir is an associate in Davis Polk's Corporate Department, practicing in the Capital Markets Group. He frequently advises public and private technology companies on various legal issues relating to transactional and tax matters. He also advises on federal income tax matters involving financially troubled companies.

Before joining Davis Polk, Mr. Savir served as a programmer in the Israeli Defense Forces and later joined AT&T’s Research and Development group. Since joining the firm in 2015, he has completed a rotation in the Tax Department.

  • Advising a major creditor and backstop party in the $20 billion restructuring of Brazilian telecommunications provider Oi S.A., the largest court-supervised restructuring ever to take place in Latin America
  • First- and second-lien noteholders and proposed DIP lenders in connection with Venoco’s pre-arranged chapter 11 filing
  • The ad hoc group of holders of the senior unsecured notes of Memorial Production Partners LP in connection with the chapter 11 restructuring of Memorial Production Partners LP
