Dara L. Sheinfeld
Ms. Sheinfeld is Pro Bono Counsel at Davis Polk. She first joined the firm in 2002, and worked as a litigation associate until 2010. During that time, she gained significant experience litigating pro bono family court matters, and supervised associates on similar cases.
Ms. Sheinfeld later spent almost five years at Sanctuary for Families, litigating family law matters on behalf of victims of domestic violence, and managing and directing two of Sanctuary’s family law offices in Family Justice Centers run by the Mayor’s Office to Combat Domestic Violence. During that time, she supervised many attorneys, including pro bono attorneys at various law firms, in highly contested family court matters, including trials. She also partnered and collaborated with various non-profit organizations and legal services agencies helping underserved communities, and brings those relationships back with her to Davis Polk.
Ms. Sheinfeld now works together with Davis Polk’s Special Counsel for Pro Bono Sharon Katz, Pro Bono Counsel Nancy Jackson Marchand, Pro Bono Counsel for Racial Justice Initiatives Diane O. Lucas and Pro Bono Coordinator Sónia Batten to manage, administer and grow the firm’s dynamic pro bono program. She supervises and supports lawyers working on various pro bono cases.
