Davis Polk partner and Mergers & Acquisitions practice co-head Oliver Smith discussed the current dealmaking environment and how companies are increasingly willing to pursue bolder transactions with the Wall Street Journal.

The article notes that the comparatively lax antitrust enforcement under the current administration has given companies more confidence to push forward on deals they may have previously held back on.  

“People are encouraged and willing to take more risk, willing to entertain bigger deals,” Oliver explained.
