Li He discusses Hong Kong’s IPO market with Law.com International
Davis Polk partner and co-head of Asia (excluding Japan) Li He discussed the increased activity in Hong Kong’s IPO market with Law.com International.
Li, who the article notes just completed his 150th IPO with Chagee’s listing on Nasdaq, said, “For China-based companies that focus on regional investors and want to reduce cross-border regulatory risks, Hong Kong represents a practical listing alternative.”
The article notes that Davis Polk was one of only two international law firms ranked in Law.com’s Hong Kong IPO pipeline report for Q1 by deal volume
Li explained that Davis Polk focuses on “large-scale transactions or relatively complex listings where specialized knowledge, experience and drafting capabilities are critical differentiators.”
“There’s a clear market segmentation,” Li added. “My general observation is that the legal market in this part of the world has naturally stratified according to deal complexity. Davis Polk maintains its position by focusing on expertise and execution quality.”
