Davis Polk partner and co-head of Asia (excluding Japan) Li He shared his thoughts with Law360 on the China Securities and Regulatory Commission’s overseas stock listing rules, which take effect March 31. “This essentially confirms that Chinese companies will continue to have a pathway to overseas listings, which is generally perceived as a positive development by the marketplace,” Li said. However, he also cautioned that China’s regulatory approach “may complicate and lengthen the listing process, at least in the initial breaking-in period.”
