Washington DC, July 29, 2019 – Davis Polk today announced that Adam Kaminsky will join the firm as a partner in the Executive Compensation Group in Washington DC.

Mr. Kaminsky will focus principally on private equity-related matters, including advising on the executive compensation aspects of private equity transactions and portfolio company executive compensation matters.

Mr. Kaminsky is joining Davis Polk from Fried Frank, where he has been a partner in the Executive Compensation & ERISA department. He has extensive experience advising on the executive compensation and ERISA aspects of corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, initial public offerings and spinoffs. He also advises public and private companies on the design, implementation and administration of equity and cash compensation arrangements, the negotiation of executive employment agreements, severance and change in control arrangements, and related corporate governance and disclosure matters. Mr. Kaminsky has negotiated individual compensation packages for executives of large publicly traded companies, as well as for portfolio companies with private equity sponsors.

Mr. Kaminsky is recognized by Legal 500 as a “Next Generation Lawyer” in the employee benefits and executive compensation category. He received a B.A. from Queen’s University in 1999, an M.A. from Syracuse University in 2000 and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of British Columbia in 2005. From 2005 to 2006, Mr. Kaminsky served as a law clerk to Justice Brian Malone of the Federal Court of Appeal of Canada.
