Davis Polk AML/CFT head Dan Stipano was quoted in Kroll speaking about recent trends in anti-money laundering enforcement. 

“We are in a time where the global threat environment has never been higher, largely due to AI and other forms of technology,” Dan noted. 

The article pointed out that while technology can be used by bad actors, it is also a useful solution to counter them. 

He added, “Technology is a double-edged sword: while it is a powerful tool to fight financial crime, it also creates opportunities that are being exploited by illicit actors.”
