TY’s practice focuses on civil litigation and advisory work. TY has acted in a broad range of commercial, corporate and regulatory matters, both contentious and non-contentious, relating to professional negligence, civil fraud, contempt, cross-border conflicts, administrative law, securities and banking regulation, white collar crime, chancery law and national security.
TY represents private and public clients including financial institutions, Hong Kong-listed companies, global accounting firms, international trading firms, regulators and bourse operators.

Litigation
- Defending a global audit firm against one of the largest audit negligence claims in history
- Defending global audit firms against substantial audit negligence claims brought by the liquidators of Hong Kong-listed companies along with their associated companies and assignees
- Defending an international law firm against a high-value claim in professional negligence arising from investigative work into the affairs of a major Chinese bio-tech company
- Defending former liquidators against large civil claims and committal proceedings brought by a sizeable regional manufacturer
- Advising and assisting on submissions to the Supreme Court of India on the application of legal professional privilege to in-house counsel
Advisory
- Advising a large banking conglomerate on dealing with assets subject to both international sanctions and local restraints
- Advising a large state-owned enterprise with global operations on listing and securities regulatory matters, specialist contracts, corporate governance and liability
- Advising bourse operators on both domestic and international national security and sanctions-related matters
- Advising on resisting the rights of re-entry or forfeiture on special government leases
- Advising non-governmental organisations on internal policies and regulatory compliance
Regulatory
- Representing investment banks in regulatory investigations by the Securities and Futures Commission
- Advising on a challenge of a foreign regulator’s jurisdiction to directly issue subpoenas against persons resident overseas and documents custodied abroad
- Assisting in the defence of an international quantitative trading firm against allegations of market manipulation in India and related cross-border investigations
