Davis Polk advised a diversified multinational company in a tax refund case in the District of Connecticut. On February 6, 2017, we obtained a favorable result for our client in a dispute with the federal government over an IRS tax refund on a loss from the sale of a life insurance subsidiary. The settlement stipulation was filed in Connecticut federal court and the settlement amount was undisclosed.
