Lanny A. Schwartz

Mr. Schwartz is a partner in the trading and markets practice within Davis Polk's Financial Institutions Group. He advises on securities and derivatives compliance, regulatory and transactional matters and enforcement. Mr. Schwartz also assists clients with advocacy projects relating to SEC, CFTC and self-regulatory organization rule proposals and interpretations concerning trading of financial instruments, market structure, the operations and business conduct of financial institutions and municipal securities. His clients include major international banks, broker-dealers, securities exchanges, fund managers, sovereign wealth funds, family offices and trade associations.

From 1999 to 2005, Mr. Schwartz was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. Previously, he was Managing Director and Counsel at Bankers Trust Company, concentrating in bank and broker-dealer regulation and investment banking.
