Mr. Heath is an associate in Davis Polk's Litigation Department, currently practicing as a Registered Foreign Lawyer in Hong Kong. His practice focuses on securities litigation and enforcement as well as alleged breaches of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and anti-money laundering, fraud and other white collar laws. In addition, he conducts internal investigations on behalf of multinational corporations and financial institutions and advises international private banks based in the United States, Switzerland, London, Singapore, Hong Kong and other jurisdictions on U.S. tax regulatory obligations and other cross-border tax risk.

Before joining Davis Polk, Mr. Heath worked as an associate at the New York office of another international law firm. While in law school, he served as a law clerk to the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary.

  • Advising a leading private bank on the development and implementation of a comprehensive cross-border tax risk mitigation program
  • Defending an individual in a criminal prosecution in the Southern District of New York, where the individual was accused of violating the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) in conjunction with the purported sale of an $800 million asset in Vietnam to a private wealth fund in the Middle East
  • Representing a bulge bracket investment bank in connection with regulatory and parliamentary inquiries into its role in the acquisition of an energy company by an Asian state-owned enterprise
  • Advising a leading U.S. company on regulatory inquiries into alleged Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) violations in the company’s operations in China and other jurisdictions in Asia and Europe
  • Representing a Big Four accounting firm in relation to a securities class action brought against a South American state-owned oil company and others in the Southern District of New York
  • Representing individual in connection with a Securities and Exchange Commission enforcement action related to a mutual fund
  • Representing a leading market maker in connection with an investigation into trading practices by the Attorney General of the State of New York
  • Advising private banks in Asia, Europe and the United States about offshore banking tax remediation plans and policies
