Davis Polk today announced that Justin M. Michael has joined the firm as counsel in its Corporate Department in New York. Mr. Michael will practice in the Derivatives and Structured Products Group.
He joins Davis Polk from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he was counsel in the Derivatives Group. Mr. Michael has experience in a broad range of finance and derivative transactions. He has advised clients in connection with financial products, such as convertible and exchangeable note transactions and associated derivative transactions, equity unit transactions, registered share forward transactions, accelerated share repurchase programs, debt and equity total return swaps, tax structured products, margin loans, and other derivative products and ISDA matters.
Mr. Michael has represented clients across a number of industries, including energy, pharmaceuticals, manufacturing, utilities and telecommunications. His clients have also included investment banks and other financial institutions.

Mr. Michael earned his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2003 and B.A. from Washington University in 2000.
