Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP has announced a partnership with CariClub that will give the firm’s young lawyers the opportunity to join nonprofit associate boards through CariClub’s online platform.
In signing with CariClub, Davis Polk becomes CariClub’s first law firm partner, joining leading organizations such as Citigroup, KKR, Third Point and Berkshire Capital in supporting efforts to strengthen the intersection between social good and business responsibility through an infusion of new leaders and philanthropists.
“Davis Polk lawyers have forever been leaders in the nonprofit community,” said Thomas J. Reid, the firm’s Managing Partner. “In CariClub, we have found an innovative company that can partner with us to create the next generation of community and firm leaders from among our young lawyers.”
CariClub CEO Rhoden Monrose said he was equally excited about the partnership with Davis Polk, citing the platform's ability to cultivate the firm’s young leaders while doing good for the community.
“Davis Polk is an exceptional law firm due in large part to the quality of its young lawyers,” Monrose said. “We envision a tremendously synergistic relationship and are looking forward to transforming the individual passions of each associate into real impact here in New York City and beyond.”
As part of the program, CariClub will provide to Davis Polk lawyers the opportunity to discover nonprofit organizations based on personal interest and apply for associate board positions seamlessly through the CariClub platform.
In addition, CariClub will provide training, education and resources for Davis Polk lawyers to prepare for associate board service. This includes advice on associate board roles and responsibilities, nonprofit governance, monitoring financial policies and establishing strategic plans.
