Susan Ervin and Linda Thomsen to Speak at ABA Business Law Section 2013 Spring Meeting

Davis Polk partners Susan Ervin and Linda Chatman Thomsen will be among the participants at the ABA Business Law Section 2013 Spring Meeting. The program will be held April 4-6, 2013, in Washington DC.

Ervin will serve as Program Chair for “Derivatives Download: Headlines and Headaches in the New World of Swap Regulation.” The panel will address the latest developments in swap regulation, including CFTC and SEC rulemakings, international derivatives developments, CFTC enforcement actions and other litigation developments, and key issues in Dodd-Frank Title VII implementation.

Thomsen will speak on a panel titled “Lawyers in the Regulatory Cross-Hairs: The Regulators Focus Enforcement Efforts on Lawyers.” Panelists will review recent enforcement trends posing significant professional responsibility issues for lawyers, including ethical and related issues arising out of (i) SEC and other enforcement actions against lawyers, (ii) financial regulators’ efforts to obtain privileged materials, and (iii) Dodd-Frank’s whistleblower provisions.
