Davis Polk lawyers Susan Ervin, Christopher Paridon and Alison Hashmall will be among the speakers at the ABA Business Law Section Annual Meeting, which will be held September 11-13, 2014, in Chicago.
Ervin will participate in the panel, “Derivatives Developments: New Market Structures, Cross-Border Complexity, Groundbreaking Litigation, and Unfinished Regulatory Business,” which will review enforcement and litigation developments, recent CFTC and SEC swap rulemakings mandated by Dodd-Frank and other topics of current interest.
Paridon will speak on the panel, “The Volcker Rule: It's Time to Comply!,” which will provide a view from the trenches as banking entities wrestle with the demands of Volcker Rule compliance.
Hashmall will speak on the panel, “Systemically Important Financial Institutions,” which will examine the current issues surrounding commodities activities of systemically important financial institutions and efforts to limit the legal and ill-defined but ever-present reputation risks they pose.
