Monday through Friday (weekends and after hours availability at times).  Hybrid schedule that requires in-office work three days a week.

Position Summary

The Senior Data Architect is responsible for the design and delivery of a scalable data architecture and infrastructure, aligning data sources and defining how data should be managed.  This role involves creating data solutions, integrating data systems, formalizing structured data intake processes and automating data processes.  The position requires strong analytical skills and an in-depth knowledge of data management, database technologies, and databases, all with a focus on aligning data solutions with our business goals.

Essentials Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Design and implement an enterprise data architecture that supports scalability, security, consistency, and optimal performance
  • Create and manage data models to maintain data accuracy and consistency
  • Implement standardization measures to maintain uniformity throughout the firm
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and conduct in-depth analysis and evaluation of data from various sources
  • Define and enforce data governance standards and best practices to ensure data integrity and compliance
  • Institute data quality standards across various datasets to instill confidence in enterprise data
  • Develop entity-relationship (E-R) diagrams for databases and program the overall logic, along with the essential program classes
Qualifications / Position Requirements
  • Extensive experience in enterprise data architecture, database design, and data modeling
  • Specialize in data-related technologies, including proficiency with big data tools and database management systems
  • Strong knowledge of data integration tools and ETL processes
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and best practices
  • Proficient in database management systems, particularly SQL Server
  • Competence in utilizing reporting tools such as Reporting Services and Excel, along with proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau and PowerBI
  • Adept at creative problem-solving with meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven ability to partner with stakeholders and drive change
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical individuals
  • Exhibits adaptability and willingness to learn new skills and technologies
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 10 years related experience required
  • Prior experience in a professional services organization strongly preferred
Compensation

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $150,000 - $180,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, anticipated assignment, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Davis Polk offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
