Our Real Estate Practice Group provides advice on real estate matters to a wide range of clients. From mergers and acquisitions for commercial real estate and hotel companies, to the purchase, sale and refinancing of large office buildings, industrial properties and shopping centers, we are at the center of the real estate marketplace. In addition, we counsel domestic and foreign individuals and companies on secured lending transactions, public and private securities offerings, project financings, bankruptcies and restructurings that contain significant real estate components.

• We advised the White House on the sale of Governors Island to the Governors Island Preservation and Education Corporation, and the transfer of the Governors Island National Monument area from the National Trust for Historic Preservation to the National Park Service.
• We are advising Host Marriott Corporation in connection with the September 11th destruction of its World Trade Center Marriott Hotel.
• We advised on the management buyout of the Painewebber Real Estate Fund from UBS PaineWebber.
• We advised Tishman Speyer as manager and investor in connection with the acquisition of Rockefeller Center.
• We advised on the development of a Ben Crenshaw golf course in East Hampton, N.Y.
• We advised Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in connection with the development of the Four Seasons Hotel in Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
• We advised Six Continents on its $2.9 billion acquisition of the Inter-Continental Hotels Group from Saison Group of Tokyo; its $1.2 billion acquisition of Bristol Hotels and Resorts, a Dallas-based hotel company; and its acquisition of Southern Pacific Hotels Group from Hyatt International.
• We advised UBS PaineWebber on the acquisition of Bay Meadows Operating Company, a horse racing company in San Mateo, California.
• We advised the von Finck family of Germany on the acquisition of approximately $1 billion in New York City office buildings, including 712 Fifth Avenue.
