We have represented companies in high-stakes products liability and mass tort cases and other class actions. These matters often raise issues that extend beyond the legal defense at trial to the business effects on insurance coverage, financing, financial reporting, corporate governance, future corporate transactions and communications to shareholders.

• We are representing Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. in actions arising out of the July 18, 2007 steam pipe explosion at 41st Street and Lexington Avenue in Manhattan. There are currently 70 consolidated cases pending against Con Edison that arose from that incident, including actions for lost profits, property damage, personal injury, and emotional distress.
• We represented RJR Nabisco and R.J. Reynolds Tobacco in the $206 billion tobacco settlement—the largest settlement of civil litigation in history.

• We represent Altria Group in the tobacco industry's $280 billion federal civil RICO Act litigation filed by the U.S. Department of Justice in the U.S. District Court in Washington, D.C.—the largest civil racketeering case in U.S. history
• We represent Altria Group and its wholly owned subsidiary Philip Morris International in connection with a cooperation agreement with the European Union and several of its member states to reduce the illegal trade in cigarettes
• We represent The Sharper Image as plaintiff in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in a product disparagement suit against Consumers Union premised upon statements contained in Consumer Reports magazine concerning the plaintiff's Ionic Breeze products
• We are representing AstraZeneca in a series of class actions asserting that AstraZeneca has artificially inflated the average wholesale prices of pharmaceuticals and thereby caused consumers to make larger co-payments
• We represented Verizon in a series of purported class actions in New York, Washington, D.C., and Florida relating to customer complaints about Verizon's DSL service, and involving claims based on contract, tort and consumer protection statutes
• We represented Yellow Pages of New York and New Jersey in cases alleging breach of contract, consumer fraud and consumer protection act violations
