Our German and Austrian practice group is based in our Frankfurt and London offices. Through our German and Austrian practice – which includes the largest contingent of U.S. trained lawyers active in this market, led by three partners and one counsel – the firm has been extensively involved in complex, cross-border securities, M&A and strategic investment transactions. Founded in 1991, our Frankfurt office was among the first opened by a U.S. law firm in Germany.

Our Work with German Companies

Through our many years of practice in Germany, we have developed strong relationships with numerous German financial institutions and companies, as well as many other financial institutions and companies that are active in Germany. We are able to draft complex disclosure documents and conduct meetings and due diligence in both English and German. We can cover this wide range of transactions because we work closely with our colleagues at Hengeler Mueller, Germany's premier corporate law firm. Together with Hengeler Mueller we field an integrated team of experienced German and U.S. lawyers to cover a wide variety of transactions. This joint team has worked together on a number of major acquisitions and equity offerings for a diverse group of clients.

Our Work with Austrian Companies

We have been active in the Austrian market since 1994 and have advised Austrian corporate and banking clients on a variety of capital markets transactions. We work closely with several Austrian law firms with a strong capital markets practice and bring a particular familiarity with Austrian issuers and the Austrian capital markets to the table.

Chambers Europe ranked both Patrick Kenadjian and George Hacket as number one as Overseas Experts for Austria for capital markets (Chambers Europe, 2007).
