As a partner in our Tax Department, Mr. Ballan has advised on the tax aspects of domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, spinoffs and securities offerings, as well as cross-border tax planning for such clients as Aetna, Bertelsmann, Emerson, EMI, E*TRADE, Julius Baer, Morgan Stanley, PepsiCo, Texas Instruments. His private equity and hedge fund clients have included Citigroup, Corsair, Credit Suisse, Francisco Partners, Highbridge, Lindsay Goldberg, Old Lane, TPG-Axon, Welsh Carson. Mr. Ballan has extensive experience in resolving transfer pricing disputes and other tax controversies for multinational firms in the pharmaceutical and technology industries.
