Alan Dean
Partner
Mr. Dean, a member of Davis Polk’s Corporate Department, represents clients in public and private securities offerings, and advises on general corporate matters, including securities law compliance and corporate governance.

His capital raising experience spans a broad range, including initial public offerings, conventional debt and convertible securities. He advises on new financial products and has worked on currency, equity- and commodity-linked notes, and equity-linked derivatives, such as total return swaps. Mr. Dean helped to develop the first credit enhanced auction rate preferred stock. His investment banking clients have included Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, J.P. Morgan and Morgan Stanley. Corporate clients range from world class enterprises to start-up clients. He has worked on financings for U.S. and foreign issuers across a wide range of industries, including technology, telecommunications, health care, consumer products, retail, manufacturing, energy and financial services. He has extensive experience across the entire technology sector and a particular expertise in offerings for Canadian issuers.
