DPWomen
An integral part of the firm’s women’s initiative is DPWomen, one of the firm’s six affinity groups geared toward cultivating a workplace that supports diversity. DPWomen is open to all lawyers across the firm, women and men, and meets frequently to discuss the unique interests and concerns that women have at the firm and within the legal profession in general, including such topics as career development, mentoring and work/life balance. A key focus of the group is holding panel discussions and making presentations on various women’s issues given by Davis Polk lawyers, as well as hosting external speakers who are experts in their field. DPWomen has hosted several forums and presentations at which clients, alumnae and other outside experts have come to speak about career and workplace-related issues.
Davis Polk Parents
Another affinity group, Davis Polk Parents, is a group of women and men that meets regularly for informal networking and presentations by outside experts and administrators. Recent events have included sessions on CPR and child safety, family estate planning, how to hire and pay a nanny, and positive discipline and limit setting.
