Davis Polk Lawyers Honored for Pro Bono Service
12/13/2010
Davis Polk partner Daniel Kolb has been named the 2010 recipient of the Whitney North Seymour Award, presented annually by the Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights Under Law. The award recognizes a board member whose body of work exemplifies the legacy of service and integrity that characterized the life of Whitney North Seymour, former president of the ABA.

Kolb has been instrumental in LCCR election protection work. With his help, Davis Polk has hosted local and national call centers for primaries and general elections, led mobile legal volunteer efforts in all five boroughs, and participated in the drafting of testimony presented to city and state legislative officials and voting agencies. Kolb and a team of associates have also been working with LCCR to assist homeowners who have been victims of illegal loan modification scams.

Kolb will be presented with the award on December 13, 2010, at the LCCR's annual awards reception in New York.

In addition, in a ceremony held on December 6, 2010, Legal Services NYC recognized Davis Polk associates Karla Booth, Alex Crohn, Courtney Howard, Sophia Hudson and Julia Nestor and partners Nancy Sanborn and Jim Windels for their outstanding efforts on a variety of different projects on behalf of low-income clients throughout New York City.
