Davis Polk Advises Thomson in Connection with Sauvegarde and Chapter 15

Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP is advising Thomson on its effort to implement a restructuring plan with financial creditors through a French sauvegarde proceeding and a U.S. Chapter 15 case.

With headquarters in Boulogne, France, Thomson is a world-leading provider of solutions for the creation, management, delivery and access of video for the communication, media and entertainment industries. Its business includes the Technicolor brand of products and services, which provides a full range of production, post-production and network services for studios, independent filmmakers and television producers.

Thomson has for approximately one year engaged in discussions with its financial creditors to address debt of approximately €2.9 billion, or $3.7 billion. As part of that process, on November 30, Thomson commenced a sauvegarde in France, and on December 16 commenced a Chapter 15 case in New York.
